About CLEI
CLEI is a non-profit organization, whose members are the most important and prestigious Latin-American universities, professional associations and research centers interested in the areas of research, teaching and the development of informatics.
Objectives
- Creating stages of scientific and educative cooperation in informatics for Latin-America.
- Strengthening technological and cultural interchange in informatics
- Promoting the creation of native technologies that properly deal with regional necessities
- Enhancing the quality of education in informatics
- Promoting the scientific development of informatics in Latin-America.
Main Activity
CLEI annually organizes the most important Latin American Informatics Conference hich traditionally moves among its member countries.
- In recent years, an average of nearly 1000 attendees participated.
- Several hundred papers are typically submitted.
- A Program Committee, with investigators from over a dozen countries, selects approximately 100 of them for presentation at the conference and for publication in its proceedings.
- Traditionally, the best papers are published in a special issue of the CLEI Electronic Journal
